Dr. Kristi Rhodes is originally from Hot Springs, Arkansas, and grew up in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Rhodes moved to Orlando, Florida in order to work at both Disney’s Animal Kingdom and SeaWorld Orlando in the animal education and care departments. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 where she was active in the leadership of both SCAVMA and the Zoo and Wildlife Medicine Club.
After veterinary school, Dr. Rhodes completed a 1-year internship in general practice, emergency medicine, and zoo/wildlife medicine at VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency Center in Tucson, Arizona. She moved to the Tampa area in 2017 with her husband, 2 dogs, and 3 cats in order to pursue exotic animal medicine and housecall practice. In her spare time, Dr. Rhodes enjoys spending time with her friends at the beach, theme parks, and Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey games. She also loves to travel and is an avid reader.
